We live in a world where there is so much confusion about what is right and what is wrong. We are bombarded with ideas and opinions that cause us to be confused and lost. Our Heavenly Father is not the author of confusion. He wants us to feel safe and secure. Though the world and its values may change, God does not change. Truth will always be truth. The best way to find truth is to go to the source, our loving Heavenly Father. It starts with simply and fervent prayer. I have come to know for myself that I am a child of God. Once that truth is embedded in your heart you will be free. The Savior himself said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). We no longer need to feel alone or lost. Our questions can be answered as we humble ourselves before the Lord and call upon His name. In John 17:3 we read, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." The greatest and most important truth we can learn in mortality is that we have a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son Jesus Christ to the earth so that through Him we might have eternal life. I know for myself that God lives. Jesus Christ is His Son. Their work and their glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we invite everyone to learn of our doctrine and ask their Father in Heaven if it is not true. All those who are seeking for truth can find it. It all starts by getting on our knees.
Throughout time prophets have learnt the gospel of Jesus Christ. They in turn teach the gospel to others and testify of Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Their teachings are found in sacred books known as scriptures. As we study the word of God we learn of truth. It is confirmed to us by the power of the Holy Ghost. We invite the spirit into our lives as we pray and read our scriptures. God has always spoken to prophets throughout time. Today we have living day prophets who speak on behalf of the Lord. As we follow their counsel we will be led to truth. There may be some that might question whether these men really are Apostles of the Lord. In His Sermon on the Mount, the Savior counseled, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits..." (Matthew 7:15-16). I would invite you to do as the Savior counseled and look to their fruits. Heavenly Father knew there would be those who would question the Prophet Joseph Smith and whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lords true church upon the earth. The Book of Mormon is convincing evidence of the Restoration of the Gospel. It stands as an additional witness that Jesus is the Christ. Read from it's pages and ask your Heavenly Father if it is not true. You can know for yourself that the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve are called of God.
